How to remove text and lines from a photo

Use the Text and Line tools in Removal to clean up a photo, then check the surrounding details.

1. Open your photo

Choose a photo in the Magic Eraser editor. Keep an original copy so you can compare the result.

2. Choose the right tool

Use Text for lettering, or Line for thin distractions such as wires. Inspect the selected area and adjust it to avoid details you want to keep.

3. Process and inspect

Apply the removal and zoom in around the edited area. Check patterns, straight edges and nearby objects for changes.

4. Refine and save

For a complex area, try a smaller selection and work in stages. Save the edit when the result looks right.

For a better result

Text over a detailed subject can be harder to reconstruct than text on a plain background. Only edit images you own or have permission to modify; respect copyright and attribution.
